Embark on the latest adventure in the Micro Machines franchise, which takes Hasbro's miniature cars out on improvised tracks around your house and garden (and, for the first time ever, beyond). Sport cars, street racers, stock cars, 4x4s, beach buggies and muscle cars all feature, as well as a huge roster of weapons, ranging from giant hammers to machine guns and rockets. Each car can be attacked to damage its performance, which makes for fun and unpredictable races.

Micro Machines V4 mixes knockabout, breakneck racing in the fastest scale miniature motors with explosive weapon power-ups. And because everyday household objects appear enormous in the world of Micro Machines, they can be lethal hazards too. But it's not all about crashing into each other, because every smashed enemy vehicle can be reclaimed for use in the next level.

The game also features a large collection of 750 miniature cars, all of which can be unlocked in the single-player campaign and then transferred between the PSP and PS2 versions of the game. The game's 750 tracks are spread across four themes, and the physics engine and control systems are solid, even though some of the environments aren't as creative or interesting as those in the other games in the series.

Version 4.4 brings further upgrades to the base system, including new boot codes (cde and pretce) and improved extension searching and dynamic kernel dependencies. It also includes the x86-64-v2 CPU microarchitecture, which adds support for vector instructions up to Streaming SIMD Extensions 4.2 (SSE4.2), the POPCNT instruction (for bit-fiddling in some data structures) and CMPXCHG16B (a two-word compare-and-swap instructions). The core project now supports self contained mountable/unmountable extensions with FLTK GUI scmbrowser and command line tools scm and scm-load.
